Part A: Getting Testimonials (3 Prompts)

Prompt 1: Email Testimonial Request (Full Version)

When to use: After completing a project or reaching a milestone with a client. Best sent within 48 hours of a compliment, a thank-you email, or a successful outcome.

The Prompt:

Write a testimonial request message for a client who just completed
[service or project] with my [business type].

Goal: get a specific, detailed testimonial — not a vague "great service" response.

Include:
- A genuine thank-you for working together
- A guiding question about the result they got — specifically asking about
the before/after ("What were things like before we worked together,
and how are they different now?")
- A gentle note that even 2–3 sentences is plenty
- A request for permission to share it (in their words)

Tone: warm, conversational, not transactional. Under 120 words. Email format.

Completed Example:

Subject: A small favour — and a big thank-you

Hi [Name],

It’s been such a pleasure working on [project/service] with you. I really appreciate you trusting us with [brief description of the work].

I’d love to use your experience as a testimonial on our website and social media — if you’re comfortable with that. It doesn’t need to be long; even 2–3 sentences would be wonderful.

If you have a moment, it would really help if you could describe what things were like before we started, and how they’ve changed since. That kind of honest before/after is what helps people understand what working with us actually looks like.

Thank you in advance — I’ll send you a copy before anything is published.

[Your name]

When to use: After a positive interaction, a completed job, or when a client compliments you directly.

The Prompt:

Write a short, warm Google review request message for a client who
just completed [service] with my [business type] in [city].

Include: a genuine thank-you, a brief explanation of why Google reviews
matter to a small business, and a direct link placeholder.

Under 80 words. Friendly, not transactional.

Completed Example:

Hi [Name],

Thank you so much for choosing us — it was great to [work on / help with] [brief reference to their job].

If you have two minutes, a Google review makes a real difference for a small business like ours — it helps people who are looking for [service] in [city] find us when they search.

Here’s the direct link: [GOOGLE REVIEW LINK]

Thank you so much.

Prompt 3: Video Testimonial Request

When to use: For clients who’ve had a particularly strong result and communicate well. A 60-second video testimonial is worth more than a written one in most contexts.

The Prompt:

Write a video testimonial request message for a highly satisfied client.

Make it easy: suggest they record on their phone, explain it only needs
to be 30–60 seconds, and give them 3 guiding questions to respond to:
1. What was the situation before working with us?
2. What changed after?
3. Who would they recommend us to?

Tone: casual, friendly, no pressure. Under 120 words.

Completed Example:

Hi [Name],

You’ve shared some really kind words about our work together, and I wondered if you’d be comfortable recording a short video testimonial?

It only needs to be 30–60 seconds, filmed on your phone — no editing or production needed. Just you speaking naturally to these three questions:

  1. What was the situation before we worked together?
  2. What changed after?
  3. Who would you recommend us to?

No pressure at all if it’s not your thing. But if you’re happy to, it would mean a lot.

Part B: Repurposing Testimonials (5 Prompts)

Source testimonial for examples below:

“Before working with [business], I was spending about 10 hours a week chasing quotes, writing emails, and doing admin. Now that’s down to about 2 hours. I didn’t think it was possible — I just thought that was what running a business looked like. The difference is remarkable.” — Adam, sole trader electrician, Gold Coast

Prompt 4: Website Homepage Quote

When to use: Pulling 1–2 sentences for a hero section, about page, or services page.

The Prompt:

Take this testimonial and format it as a punchy 1–2 sentence website quote.
Keep the most specific, concrete, and powerful part — usually the result.
Remove anything vague or generic.
Attribution format: [First name, job title or business type, City]

Testimonial: "[paste full testimonial]"

Completed Example:

“I went from 10 hours of admin per week to 2. I didn’t think it was possible.” — Adam, Sole Trader Electrician, Gold Coast

Prompt 5: Social Media Story Post

When to use: Facebook, LinkedIn, or Instagram — turns a testimonial into a post people engage with.

The Prompt:

Turn this client testimonial into a social media post for [platform].

Structure:
- Start with the problem/before state (make it relatable — "A [business type] came to us spending X...")
- Build through what changed
- End with a CTA (one clear action)

Under 150 words. Third person — don't quote verbatim, tell it as a story.

Testimonial: "[paste full testimonial]"

Completed Example (LinkedIn):

An electrician on the Gold Coast came to us spending 10 hours every week on admin — chasing quotes, writing emails, handling paperwork that had nothing to do with the actual trade.

Now that’s down to 2 hours.

He said he didn’t think it was possible. He thought 10 hours was just what running a small business looked like.

It doesn’t have to be.

If your admin is eating your evenings and weekends, that’s exactly what we work on. The first conversation is free.

Prompt 6: Email Newsletter Client Spotlight

When to use: A “client win” or “story from this month” section in a monthly newsletter.

The Prompt:

Turn this testimonial into an 80-word "client spotlight" paragraph for
a monthly newsletter.

Requirements:
- Keep the specific result (the numbers/timeframe)
- Mention the client's industry/situation without naming them
- Warm, third person — reads like a genuine story, not a sales pitch

Testimonial: "[paste full testimonial]"

Completed Example:

This month, a Gold Coast trades business owner told us that his admin time dropped from 10 hours a week to 2 hours — after years of thinking that was just the reality of running his own business. He’d been dealing with it so long, he’d stopped seeing it as a problem. For any business owner carrying the same weight: that time doesn’t have to go to paperwork.

Prompt 7: Google Business Profile Post

When to use: Monthly GBP post — free visibility in Maps and local search results.

The Prompt:

Write a Google Business Profile post featuring this client result.

Requirements:
- Under 150 words
- Mention the region or city naturally (for local SEO)
- Describe the result in plain language
- End with a soft CTA (book, call, enquire)
- Avoid hashtags (not needed on GBP)

Testimonial: "[paste full testimonial]"

Completed Example:

One of our Gold Coast clients — a sole trader electrician — recently told us he’s cut his weekly admin from 10 hours down to 2. He’d been spending his evenings on paperwork for years, assuming it was just the cost of running a business.

It doesn’t have to be that way. We help small business owners in South East Queensland get that time back — with practical systems and AI tools that actually fit how they work.

Prompt 8: Mini Case Study for Proposals and Website

When to use: Including in a quote or proposal to demonstrate results. Also useful as a “Case Studies” section on your website.

The Prompt:

Expand this testimonial into a 120-word mini case study.

Structure:
1. The Challenge — what the client's situation was before
2. The Solution — what we did / the approach
3. The Result — the specific measurable outcome

Third person, professional tone.
Don't name the client — refer to them as "a [business type] in [city]."

Testimonial: "[paste full testimonial]"

Completed Example:

Case Study: Reducing Admin Time for a Trades Business

The Challenge: A sole-trader electrician on the Gold Coast was spending approximately 10 hours per week on administrative tasks — chasing quotes, drafting client emails, and managing paperwork. This was eating into evenings and leaving little time for anything outside work and trade.

The Solution: We introduced a structured system using AI tools to handle recurring admin tasks — email drafting, quote follow-ups, and client communication templates — in a fraction of the previous time.

The Result: Weekly admin time dropped from 10 hours to approximately 2 hours. The client described the change as “remarkable” — noting that he had accepted the previous workload as an unavoidable reality of running a small business.
